Poem-go-Round

Keep the temPOets
yEARNing little as they
spENDless hours making
rhyMESmerized by
nature’s blUSHering in new Spring

I, The Poet

I Verbalize my thoughts as I search for the words
Do they diaphonize in air or leaden-fall as turds?
Does a star-twinkle shine or a shining star twinkle?
When my head over-thinks, am I all in a thinkle?
If I see it flutter by or rolly-tumble down
Is it a butterfly, a weed or a clown?
If a dog barks at a tree, can the tree dog him back?
As I poetize each word please give me some slack
A thesaurus I don’t need: each object coins its word
As I definitionize, the meaning will be heard

OK, it's your turn:
Finish this poem with your very own line.
And don't forget to make it rhyme
I have confidence in you
As you see, it will need two

Circle of Light

Sunshine makes the raindrops sing
Water makes the sunshine gleam
Together they’re a wondrous team
When they make the Great Rainbow

Moonshine gives the water light
Water reflects in sheer delight
And so they guide our way at night
When Heaven makes the Earth glow

The Source of light, a blessed gift
Reflected back, our souls to lift

Not a poet? How do you know it? Make a list of words that rhyme with the last word in the lines above, then think backwards, making up sentences that end with the different words until you find a couple that fit. Throw some words out, or add some in, to keep the rhythm of the poem intact. You may find out there's a poet inside of you.

Visitors: Check back often to see when voting begins - and cast your vote! Entrants will be automatically notified.

To gather her children from far and wide
